Dolphy died @ age 83

Manila, Philippines-  The latest official statement released from Makati Medical Center states that Rodolfo Vera Quizon with a famous screen name of  "Dolphy" died @ 8:34 p.m. today due to Multiple organ failure secondary to complications brought about by severe Pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and acute renal failure. It was a shocking news compared to the medical bulletin released at 4pm that he was responding good to the treatment by dialysis.  But they also noticed that Dolphy was less active today compare to the other days of his activities.

His son Eric Quizon is the official spokesperson of the family and is on a shooting at Bataan while he received the news about his dad. His wife Zsa Zsa Padilla called Willie Revillame, one of Dolphy's closest friend, to tell the news while he's airing live on Will Time Big Time program. A sudden shock from the live audience was heard when Willie announced the sad news. He also playback the birthday tribute to Dolphy last July 24, 2011. It was really a sad moment to everyone who knows about him.

He was the only King of Comedy in the Philippines by contributing a lot to theater, radio, T.V., and movie industries. He had more than 200 movies made since 1950's. He received the Grand Collar (Maringal na Kuwintas of the Order of the Golden Heart)—the highest award given to a private citizen—from the President last November 10, 2010.

He was born on July 25, 1928 and died on July 10, 2012 at the age of 83. Rest in peace King of Comedy- Dolphy.
